We are now functioning in support of our orchestra programs at both Oslo and Storm Grove middle schools!
We need your support to streamline our operations!
All our future fundraising and contributions to OPUS will directly benefit our Orchestra programs to ensure that these amazing programs remain an asset to our children in the public school system.

OPUS Membership – $10
Membership helps fundraise: Instrument-specific coaching for students, purchases sheet music for study and performance, brings in professional clinicians to instruct the orchestra. In addition, ’OPUS’ raises funds to help all students to participate on trips and in competitions.

Orchestra Director and President of OPUS. Organizes all musical development of students, classes and concert programing between 2 schools. Will organize and call OPUS meetings when deemed necessary. In other countries known as el Presidante, Maestro, or Lord of the Strings.
Coordinate committees with President and Orchestra Director, Richard Ballinger and support Orchestra when needed.
Works with Orchestra Director, Richard Ballinger on the committees and fundraising activities, support the Orchestra in all capacities when needed.
Take minutes at each booster meeting and transcribe update on Charms and send PDF transcription to Website coordinator for the OPUS webpage.
Receives checks for the Orchestra make sure they are recorded on Charms’ account, help organize the fundraising funds and record on students’ account. Annually audits records for the OPUS 501c3 organization.
Welcomes and enlists memberships in OPUS at school and orchestra Orientations and assists in submitting funds to OPUS with the Treasurer.
Photocopy materials, help with packets, etc
Assist and organize volunteers, chaperones and students in OPUS approved fundraisers that are beneficial to the Orchestra.
Contact stores, events, etc. for the students’ to play for their accounts and/or community service throughout the year Assist with invitations to Team Retreat potlucks, end of the year banquet, decorations, and Contribute baked goods, coordinate refreshments for orchestra rehearsals, events, class parties and trips.
Assist in organizing the music library and getting volunteers when needed
Assist with pre-sales and sales of concert recordings, t-shirts and gear at all events where the OMS & SGMS Orchestras are represented.
Assist with the solicitation of ads and coordinate timely delivery of artwork to the concert program designer. Assist with collection of information, design, printing and delivery of concert programs.
Assist with the writing and distribution of articles and announcements about the Orchestra Program. Arrange for journalists to attend and write articles about our orchestra programs.
Assists the Director in overseeing the making of concert DVD’s and/or audio recordings of festivals, FOA solo and ensembles or MPA’s.
Help set-up the volunteers needed to measure, receive payment, etc. for the uniforms, as well as the return of uniforms for preparation for the new school year .
Assist with calendar and email communications sent directly from CHARMS. Provide pertinent information to various committees including volunteer and chaperone sign-ups.
Assists with the development and maintenance of the OPUS and Orchestra websites and facebook pages.
